3D Visualisation for the internetThe Street is a hitech start up based on technology being developed in Dunedin and global partnerships. The Street was formed in 2006 after investment from both corporate and angel investors. The Street technology is still subject to confidentiality as it is under development however an overview is given below. |
The Street has developed three technology platforms from which we can create products to meet our customers specific needs.
The three platforms are
Virtual Training
We have created a platform to allow the creation of interactive learning packages set in a virtual environment that delivers quality training material with a relevance previously only possible through one-on-one teaching. Using 3D gaming technology we can deliver course content in the context of a real world simulation - on a personal level and at the students own pace. It's an exciting teaching method that immediately engages and keeps students interested, providing real time feedback and centralised reporting. The Kitchen is a fully interactive training programme, developed with Otago Polytechnic, to provide Food safety training.
It can also lead to a community of connected trainees, for course discussion and networking.
Personal Choice
This platform helps consumers make either important or complex decisions in a fun and interactive way. Working with a guide who asks a series of questions, the clients answers are processed by the1000minds algorithm to provide a personalised outcome that's helpful and motivating.
In the education sector it is being developed with Otago University to create a great online tool for helping students and their parents choose between courses.
Virtual Communities
We can create virtual environments for any interest group to enable users to meet, learn, socialise or network in a 3D environment using personal "avatars".
The community environment can be based on photo realism or illustrations.
An example of a virtual environment is www.themallplus.com for retailing.
Environments for trade shows, interest groups and University students are currently under development.
